British Summer Time

British Summer Time

With British weather being pretty unpredictable, when we do get beautiful sunny days, nothing quite beats it.

Crowds descending on beer gardens, picnics in the park, strawberries and cream at Wimbledon and BBQs with friends and family - us Brits make the most of the sun because, let’s face it, we don’t know when the next sunny day will be!

With rumours of a heat wave coming our way, we look set to be in for a super summer. To help you get the most out of the warmer months, we’ve come up with ways for you to stay happy and healthy and fun ideas to spend quality time with family and friends.

Stay happy and healthy in the sun

Stay happy and healthy in the sun

As much as we love the sun, it’s important to make sure we don’t get carried away.

When you’re out and about, slap on that suntan lotion and drinks lots of water. You’ll need more than you normally drink to stay hydrated. Remind your friends and family to do the same.

Keep cool

Keep cool

When it comes to working throughout the summer months, it can be pretty miserable being cooped up in a hot sweaty office.

Make sure you stay cool by wearing loose fitting cotton clothing and you’ll be very thankful for a fan in the office too!

The summer is a great opportunity to have some away from the sofa and TV and get out in the great outdoors.

There’s lots of ways to have fun in the sun. You could organise your very own sports day in the park, go camping with friends or enjoy a homemade picnic in pretty countryside.

Get Mediterranean

When the temperatures rise, the last thing you want to feel is sluggish.

Look to the Mediterranean where they are said to have one of the healthiest diets. It’s largely based on vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, cereal grains, olive oil and fish. Check out the recipes below for more ideas.
