The Euros 2020 will consist of 24 games and 51 matches played across Europe. All of which will be broadcast live across the BBC and ITV – so you’ll never have to miss a game! Who has qualified for the Euros 2020?
Firstly, let’s take a look at the teams that have qualified for the UEFA Euros 2020.
Group A: Turkey, Wales, Italy, Switzerland
Group B: Finland, Denmark, Russia, Belgium
Group C: Netherlands, Austria, Ukraine, North Macedonia
Group D: England, Scotland, Croatia, Czech Republic
Group E: Sweden, Spain, Poland, Slovakia
Group F: Hungary, France, Germany, Portugal
How to get prepared to celebrate the Euros 2020
So, if you’re as excited as we are for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, we’ve put together a list of ways you can get ready and celebrate the Euros this year.
Decorate the house
Get in the party mood by decorating your home for the Euros 2020. Get some football themed balloons, banners and string decorations and put them up around the house. This is a fun activity too for the whole family, so get the kids involved – especially if they’re football mad too. We love this flag bunting from Amazon which includes all the flags of the teams playing in the tournament. It can double up as a learning experience too for your children as you can teach them all the different countries flags.
Make some football themed treats
Another one for kids of all ages. Continue the Euro 2020 theme with some delicious football themed snacks to munch on while you watch the game. You’ll have fun making them and bonus – you get to eat them too!
Try these tasty chocolate football cupcakes, football sugar cookies, or these easy to make football Oreo cake pops. If you’re looking for more of a showstopper, try this surprise pinata football cake from BBC Good Food.
If you’re more into savoury snacks, try a good old-fashioned burger (they go perfectly with an ice-cold beer) or pie to make you feel like you’re really at the match. Mix things up and try our recipe for sausage and apple slaw subs or air fryer mac and cheese bites.
We also love the idea of making snacks inspired by the different European nations that are playing. It’s a great way to try some new foods and have fun researching their national dishes. This blog from Waitrose is a great place to start. It has recipes for popular dishes from 9 different nations competing in the Euros 2020.
Store your drinks in style
Nothing goes better with the match than an ice-cold beer. Or if you’re feeling a in more of a summer party mood, a delicious cocktail. (Check out or cocktail recipe blog for some inspiration). Euro 2020 playlist – it’s coming home!

Why not make your own playlist with all your favourite football themed songs to listen to get you excited, or play at your Euro 2020 parties?
Alternatively, you could listen to the official UEFA Euro 2020 playlist, presented by Martin Garrix, which is available on all major music streaming platforms. The playlist has UEFA Euro 2020 stars including team captains and dressing room DJs keeping the tunes flowing. Euro 2020 themed party games
If you’re having some friends or family over to watch the match, why not play some football themed party games? Recreate the atmosphere of the big game with some healthy competition.
Try a football-themed bingo by creating tables with different pundit phrases, yellow cards, own goals, penalties and player celebrations. Grab a football and have a keepy-uppy challenge to see who can keep the ball up in the air for the longest.
Setup a Euro 2020 sweepstake
Why not set up a Euro 2020 sweepstake with other members of your household, family members or friends? There is nothing like a bit of healthy competition to get everyone excited and ready for the games.
Put all the teams who are competing names on pieces of paper in a bowl and get everyone to draw out a name – whoever you pick is your team. Ask everyone to put in a fiver, and then whoever has the winning team wins the sweepstake. Or, if you want keep people interested, you could have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and share the money out. If you can’t find 24 people to partake, don’t worry, just get each person to pick multiple teams. This way they have more chance of winning too.
Face painting
This is one the kids will love. Break out the face paints and celebrate the games with some fun face painting! Face paints are a simple and fun way to support your team and make for an easy costume if you’re heading to a Euro 2020 party. You could paint their face into the flag of the team they’re supporting, or paint some mini flags on each cheek. Or if you’re really looking for a challenge, paint each half of their face a different flag of the two teams playing. If you’re not that arty, don’t worry. You can cheat and get some football stencils like these ones from Baker Ross.

Halftime recipes
In football, halftime is only 15 minutes. But that’s plenty of time to knock up a quick delicious snack for the second half. After all the excitement of the first half, you’re bound to be a little peckish by the time you reach the 45-minute mark. Knock up something simple like chips and dip – try this creamy avocado hummus recipe. If you’re looking for something a bit more filling to share, try these healthy Greek salad nachos. Alternatively, nothing can beat a classic toasted sandwich – try this mouthwatering Italian panini sandwich recipe.
