We’ve spent so much time over the last few years not able to see family and friends in order to keep safe. And, although we’ll still be keeping safe, 2021 is the year we’ll be forgetting gifts of expense and focusing only on the little things.

There are many different ways to spend New Year’s Eve 2021. You can choose to celebrate with friends or family, or you could go out and enjoy the festivities in your city. No matter what you choose, there are plenty of fun and exciting things to do on New Year’s Eve.

Civilised house party

One popular way to celebrate New Year’s Eve is by attending a party or celebration hosted by friends or family members. A house gathering is a cheaper option than going out for food or drinks and is suitable if you’d like to avoid the crowds and chaos of New Year’s celebrations in cities. Simply get your glad rags on, and gather together with your loved ones and enjoy a festive evening together. We’re talking champagne, delicious food and possibly a midnight boogie!

A family party is lovely and often a comfortable option for many of us. We want to see our loved ones after a busy and tiring few months leading up to Christmas. And, we want to dress up and have some good fun in the process! A civilised (or not so civilised) get together is the perfect plan for us to do just that. And it’s also a plan where you don’t have to go out in the cold, book ahead for tables and wait for taxis- you can easily keep cosy in a more familiar Christmas bubble!

This year is about being together and solely enjoying each other’s company, so whichever way you decide to come together, enjoy it.

Going out, out

If you’d prefer to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a more busy and social setting, there are plenty of options available to you. Many cities host large New Year’s Eve celebrations with live music, dancing, and fireworks. If you don’t want to spend New Year’s Eve at home, this is a fabulous option for enjoying the festivities with friends or strangers.

There are plenty of New Year’s Eve parties hosted by restaurants and bars. These events are a great way to spend New Year’s Eve if you want to enjoy a meal or drinks with friends. We’re talking a fresh pair of sparkly shoes, endless selfies and a night to remember. Be sure to book early, as these events often sell out.

Put a message in the group chat, and fast forward to outfits exuding confidence, drinks not shy of colour and pizazz, and dance moves that will absolutely, without a doubt, steal the night!

Your night could lead anywhere with so many options to choose from! There’s the Theatre, Music Events, Comedy Nights, Club Events, Festivals! Take a goosey gander at what’s on near you!

A night devoted to comfort

If you’d prefer to celebrate your New Year’s Eve in a more intimate and quiet setting, gather together with a small selection of your closest family and friends. A small gathering could involve hosting a cosy pyjama night watching the New Year’s Eve celebrations on television, and simply spending time together at home.

We absolutely love the idea of being sat with our loved ones under a blanket on the sofa, with baileys or hot chocolate in hand, watching a cosy film. We can’t help but think this is how it’s meant to be done! Plus, chances are you’ll have all been given fresh new pyjamas for Christmas, so put them to good use and curl up together with your favourite people!

We love the sound of a relaxing night in with the people closest to you, having a pamper and a right good catch up after what’s been another crazy year for us all. Whichever warm, homely option you choose, enjoy spending time with the people you love most. New Year’s Eve is supposed to result in smiles on our faces, happy and comfortable, ready to start off the year in contentment and nothing less.

Alone by choice

If you prefer your own company at this time of year or any time of year, then you’re not alone! The past two years have been uncertain and unprecedented for all of us. There’ve been months of feeling uneasy, worried and isolated. We don’t blame anyone for needing some time alone at the moment, especially since we’re all still dealing with the pandemic in our own ways! There’s no rush to hurry back to pre-pandemic life, as it’s easy to become overwhelmed after months on end of limited human interaction.

We want to assure you and let you know that you’re allowed to feel how you’re feeling, and it’s more essential than ever to put yourself first! If you need time to yourself, then you take it! There are plenty of people who feel the same way and enjoy the thought of the quiet times they have nowadays.

We love the idea of staying in with a takeaway next to our four-legged friends. With no one around, there’s no pressure to stay up past midnight! Stick some comfortable, easy telly on, and see the new year in whichever way YOU want to.
