Classic Cheese Burgers

A classic buger recipe for a halogen oven.

This recipe has been based on the cooking times of a Halogen Oven. Please increase all cooking times if using a conventional oven and ensure all food is piping hot before consumption. Also allow 10 minutes for a conventional oven to preheat.


  • 1lb Fresh Minced Beef
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 6-8 Slices of Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 egg
  • ½ Cup of Fresh Breadcrumbs
  • 6-8 Burger buns
  • Salt & Pepper to taste


  • Step 1.

    Grate the onion into a large mixing bowl, add the beef mince, garlic and breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly.
  • Step 2.

    Create a small well in the centre of the mixture and add the egg, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly with your hands.
  • Step 3.

    Take a small hand full of the mixture and form a ball, then shape the ball into a small burger and place on a plate.
  • Step 4.

    Repeat this process until the mixture has been used up.
  • Step 5.

    Place Burgers on the low rack and cook at 200C for approximately 10 minutes until browned. Turn the burgers using the tongs and cook for a further 5 min.
  • Step 6.

    Add cheese and continue to cook until the cheese has melted.
  • Step 7.

    Place the finished burger on a sliced bun, add your favorite condiments and enjoy.
