Marshmellow Brains Halloween Recipe

  • 175g mini marshmallows
  • 25g butter
  • 100g puffed rice cereal
  • Sunflower oil
  • Red writing, piping or gel icing


Put the marshmallows and the butter together in a heatproof bowl placed over a pan of gently simmering water. Leave until melted, stirring occasionally.


Pour the cereal into a large bowl. Pour over the melted marshmallow mixture and stir together until all the cereal is coated. Pour some sunflower oil onto a plate and dip your hands in it. Shape the mixture into brain shapes, and put them on a tray lined with nonstick baking paper.


Dip the handle of a teaspoon in oil, then press it down along the center of each cluster to create a groove.


Drizzle or pipe squiggly lines using the red icing onto the brains to represent the blood vessels. Leave to set for at least 4 hours or until firm, then enjoy. The perfect treat for little zombies!
