- 1 large white onion, finely chopped
- 325mg white breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp mixed herbs, dried
- 2 tsp sage, dried
- 1 egg
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Salt, to taste
STEP 1
In a large saucepan, add olive oil and place it on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to low, add chopped onions and place a lid.
STEP 2
Let them cook at low heat for about 5 minutes. You can stir the onions occasionally.
STEP 3
Let them cook until the onions are soft but don’t get a golden colour.
STEP 4
Place white breadcrumbs in a large bowl and pour cooked onions on top.
STEP 5
Add dried basil, dried mixed herbs, black pepper, and salt.
STEP 6
Mix well and let the mixture cool completely. Once it is cool, add a beaten egg and mix well.
STEP 7
Grease your hands and make 12 equal balls of the mixture.
STEP 8
Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking tray and place the baking tray in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes at 400-degree F. You can cook these balls in an air fryer as well.
STEP 9
Once the balls get a nice golden colour, take them out of the oven and serve.
